The arc-shaped cast iron gate is a curved water flow control device primarily made of cast iron, widely used in water conservancy projects such as reservoirs, rivers, and hydropower stations. It regulates water levels and intercepts flow by driving the gate plate to rotate via a hoist.
Structural Features
The arc-shaped cast iron gate adopts an external arc design, offering high structural strength and uniform stress distribution. The main materials are typically gray cast iron or ductile cast iron. The gate consists of components such as the frame, gate plate, guide rails, and sealing strips. The sealing surface is inlaid with copper strips or rubber, achieving bidirectional water sealing through a wedge block device, with gaps controllable within 0.1 mm.
Function and Application
This gate is suitable for working conditions requiring bidirectional pressure resistance, such as urban water supply and drainage, agricultural irrigation, and flow interception in hydropower stations. Its external arc design optimizes hydraulic performance, reduces the hoisting force, and minimizes operational noise.
Installation and Maintenance
Installation requires embedding steel plates or bolts to secure the base and synchronizing with the hoist for control. Regular daily inspections of sealing strip wear are necessary, and adjustments to the wedge block device should be made to restore water sealing performance.
